- 1 x Packet of GR Slow Comfortable Stew Sauce Mix
- 1 x 450g Diced Lean Beef
- 1 x 450g Diced Carrot & Swede
- 1 x Large Onion, chopped
- 1 x 450g Potatoes
- 2 Tablespoon Tomato Puree
- 1 x 565ml (1 pint) Water
- 150g Self-Raising Flour (or GF alternative)
- 70g Suet
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 3 Tablespoon Cold Water
- Small Handful of Parsley, chopped (optional)
Method
- Place the beef, carrot, swede, onion, potatoes and tomato puree into your slow cooker pot.
- Blend the Slow Comfortable Stew Sauce Mix with water (565ml) and add to the slow cooker pot, stir thoroughly.
- Cover and cook for 4 hours on HIGH or 8 hours on MEDIUM until the meat is tender and cooked through (keep covered during cooking, cooking times may vary between slow cooker models).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Now, stir in the suet and parsley (optional).
- When combined, make a well in the centre of the mixture. Add in 3 tbsp of water and mix until the dough is firm but malleable.
- Divide into 8 equal pieces and roll into balls and chill in the fridge.
- An hour before serving, cover the stew with the dumplings. Allow to cook for another hour.
- Remove the lid and stand for 5 minutes before serving.
